We are Foothold Technology (www.footholdtechnology.com) and we make software that helps social service agencies deliver client services more effectively and more efficiently. Numerous agencies across the country use our software to improve the lives of their clients. In turn, those agencies affect many clients. We use the ‘cloud’ to deliver our software to our clients. We built it using Linux, Apache, Postgres and PHP. We’re looking for a highly qualified Database Engineer who knows these technologies AND who passionately believes in building better software to help those who help others.
This new permanent position will report to the Director of Application Development and will be located at our corporate headquarters in downtown New York City. Our new Database Engineer must be able to “hit the deck running” regarding our current back-end databases and then implement new requirements, including profiling tools, schema, addresses, etc., as we move forward with new application development.
Requirements include:
--Large-scale Database design, modeling and partitioning experience
--Experience in resolving database problems and in creating new features/functionality for existing database
--Perform proactive maintenance, analysis, optimization and scaling of the database
--Strong grasp of advanced SQL, queries, stored procedures, schemas, cursors, views, triggers and best RDMS management practices.
--Deep LINUX based system experience
--Implement analysis profiling tools
--Detailed-oriented and organized
--Excellent oral and written communication skills
